grace under fire
I wanted to write about the benefit of daily tapping, whether actually doing the Personal Peace Procedure or just realizing a need for tapping something that comes up.
I had something big come up yesterday. I had been up very late the night before and a family member called me very early to let me know she had done something to potentially light a fuse in our very short fused family. As soon as I hung up with her the other family member called and away we went.
I found it amazing that despite the volatile topic, I remained completely calm. The close of the conversation was this other family member screaming at me, cutting me off, and other insulting behavior. I continued calm and as I got off the phone, I did a physical body check to rate my emotions. None! There was no emotional intensity. If this had occurred 8 months ago, I would have been recovering for days. I would have been very upset and would have also obsessed over the experience and feelings attached.
I talked to the original family member several times throughout the day and my feelings remained calm with the exception of a new family member becoming involved. As she told me of their conversation, I simply tapped on all the short cut points over and over without a setup and felt the low level anxiety dissipate. I found myself saying to her repeatedly throughout the day, "That is not my problem."
I remain simply amazed that I operated with this level of calm and attribute it completely to daily tapping. I have worked extensively on myself for past family issues and can only guess that this work has removed my fuses completely. Only time will tell. I highly recommend finding something to tap about each day and eventually experiencing the personal peace that comes from doing so.
