Life is worth Living!

In the last two weeks in our very small rural town, two people have taken their lives. One is actually still under investigation, so maybe one. Either way, suicide is such a devastating event for everyone left behind. How could I know that? Because when I was 19, my own mother took her life. I have to admit, there have been a couple of times in my life, when I was so overwhelmed with emotions and experiences that I considered it myself. Fortunately my faith, and my own experience recovering from my mother's death, kept me from making that bad decision.

I look back now on those times, and I thank God with everything in me, that I did not let my thoughts take me to places from which I would never return. Several of my children would not have been born had I followed through with it. And I think about what my life might be like if my mother had not taken her life. She'd have 10 grandchildren, and I am pretty sure she would be a part of their lives. She could not see beyond the moment to the possibilities. I had a best friend who was considering it at one point, and I remember my conversations with her, pleading with her to look beyond the moment. She is now in a much more successful place in her life and I am very grateful to have watched her fight her way to success.

Wanna save a life? I went to a Body Language training a couple of months ago and I asked the trainer how to tell if someone was contemplating suicide. Look for these signs and you may be able to save a life. Thanks Kirk for the tips.

1. Eyes that hang low even during happy topics.
2. No crying, emotions are turning into cement.
3. Droopy shoulders even during happy topics.
4. They don't know numbers, dates, they start generalizing about everything.
5. Tight lips – a lot of tight lips.

If you know someone who is displaying these behaviors, give them the message: "Stay on the planet, no leaving early!" And then give them lots of support and love and help them see their value.

EFT was invaluable many years after my mother died, in helping me heal those old wounds. They say "time heals all wounds." I don't believe that is true. Given the right circumstances, our old wounds often sideline us when least expected. But, we may not realize where the actions are coming from. EFT allowed me to go back to the horrible event of learning of my mother's death and all the events around that and her funeral, and totally release every negative feeling about. Except for the wish that it had never happened.

EFT has helped me overwhelmingly more than anything else, release guilt, self-doubt, self-loathing, and all kinds of other negative and limiting traits and beliefs. And you can too. Let me teach you how.
